Mary Nelson - Founder of LaStone Therapy

Mary D. Nelson is the founder of LaStone® Therapy and a native of Tucson, Arizona. Mary’s parents chose to raise their five children in the heart of Irish Catholic traditions. As a young woman she began to study metaphysical beliefs in addition to maintaining her connection to Christ awareness. Throughout her years in Tucson she has been blessed with learning about Native American Cultures and enjoys mixing all three of her spiritual interests while being a devoted mother and grandmother..

Mary graduated from The Desert Institute of the Healing Arts in 1991, during this time she was guided by her inner spirit to begin to explore the energies of the body; it was then that she began to see the difference in her clients after a session with her that involved basic methods of clearing the Auric Fields and supporting the whole experience with ancient ceremonial rituals such as smudging and balancing the Chakras.

Mary is a pioneer in research and development in Geo-thermo-therapy, a technique that utilizes the application of hot and cold stones to the body to bring about a chemical, emotional and Spiritual response. Mary began experimenting with these theories in the summer of 1993 when she began to listen to her Spirit Guide, San Juanette` speak to her about the stones and how to use them in conjunction with massage techniques. With each day more messages came to Mary through her Spirit Guide about stone healing, she naturally incorporated the techniques that she was exploring regarding balance through the energy systems of the body combining the two together in a sacred dance she calls LaStone® Therapy.
