The high Andes Mountains of Northern Chile has scene after scene of beautiful panoramas. I have this picture in a prominent place in my home. It brings a special feeling of peace every time I take the time to contemplate how it was the day I took the picture. The quietness was unequaled in all my life! This area is one of the driest on Earth! Yet this small lagoon of water collects from runoff from distant snow covered peaks. It is located in the middle of the Valley of the Volcanoes. The natives call it "La Ola", - The wave. In ancient times the natives from this remote location had never seen the ocean or a river. This is the only body of water that exists in a vast area. The natives must have imagined that if they had seen "a wave", this is what it must look like.
